Job at an appropriate skill level (eligible occupation)

From 22 July 2025 the job must normally be skilled to RQF level 6 (graduate level) or above, and listed in Table 1, 2 or 3 of Appendix Skilled Occupations. The worker does not need a graduate qualification; the work must be skilled to that level. Jobs below graduate level are only eligible if they are on the Immigration Salary List or the Temporary Shortage List, or a transitional provision applies (including workers sponsored in medium-skilled roles before 22 July 2025, and prison service officers). This tool does not look up occupation codes — you must check your SOC 2020 code in Appendix Skilled Occupations.
