Cookie Policy

Viovena uses as little browser storage as possible. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Strictly necessary
A login token, stored in your browser's local storage under a key that starts with sb- and ends with -auth-token, keeps you signed in. It is set only after you sign in and is removed when you sign out.
When you confirm an email or reset a password, Supabase also writes a short-lived PKCE verifier in localStorage (the same key with -code-verifier appended). That key is removed when the flow finishes.
After you sign in we cache your profile, referral code, and streak in localStorage under viovena-user so the signed-in app can paint. That key is not written while you are signed out, and it is removed when you sign out.
Assessment answers
If you take the assessment without an account, your answers are kept in your browser's local storage under viovena-onboarding so you do not lose them when you reload the page. They stay on your device until you create an account. If you create an account, we send those answers to our servers so they are available on other devices. Until they are saved, the same key holds the new account id, so only that account can claim them. Assessment answers reach our servers only if you create an account. Clearing your browser data removes any copy still on the device.
Referral
If you arrive through a referral link, we ask before storing it for 30 days. If you agree, we write a cookie named viovena_ref and the same JSON in localStorage and sessionStorage under viovena-pending-ref. The JSON is the referral code and the time we stored it. If you refuse, we keep the code in memory until you close the tab, so a signup in that session can still be credited. We do not store a separate record of your choice.
Features you chose to use
After you use a feature, we keep its state in localStorage so it survives a reload: appearance (viovena-theme), roadmap (viovena-roadmap), exam checklist (viovena-exam), document checklist (viovena-document-checklist), followed routes (viovena-route-watches), share prompts (viovena-share-prompts), and community posts you make on this device (viovena-community). These are written after you use the feature, not when you only read the catalog.
TCF practice, vocabulary and writing drafts use viovena-tcf-practice and viovena-tcf-daily, plus account-specific copies whose keys add :account: and your account id. These local copies are hidden after sign-out or an account change and restored only for the same signed-in account on this browser. While signed in, study progress, vocabulary and writing drafts are also saved to your account in Supabase and synchronized across devices. Clearing browser site data removes the local copies; it does not delete the account copy. Account data export includes the saved study document.
Your roadmap, exam checklist, document checklist, followed routes, and share prompts also record whether they were written while signed out or by which account id. When a different account signs in, or you sign out, or your session ends, this browser removes the previous owner's copy instead of showing or uploading it.
Service worker cache
A service worker caches catalog pages and fonts so the site can load again without the network. That uses the browser's Cache Storage, not cookies. Clearing site data drops those caches.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and anonymous product milestones, including tool starts, assessment steps and completion, account creation and verification, and downloads. It does not use cookies and does not write a localStorage or sessionStorage key. We do not send assessment answers, email addresses, account ids or writing drafts. URL query strings and fragments are removed and referral and shared-card codes are masked before analytics is sent.
Managing this
If you exclude this browser from anonymous usage measurement, we store your choice under viovena-analytics-excluded in localStorage. It is written only when you choose to exclude this browser, and removed when you allow measurement again. Clearing site data also removes this choice. We respect your browser's Do Not Track setting.
You can clear cookies, local storage, and site data from your browser settings at any time. Clearing them signs you out and removes any assessment answers held locally.

Anonymous usage measurement
You can exclude this browser from our page-view and product-event measurement. This is useful if you regularly test the site. Your choice applies to future activity in this browser; it does not remove past visits or Google Search Console data.
Anonymous usage measurement is enabled in this browser.
