How PSTQ ranking works

This is a Québec PSTQ ranking score, not a pass mark and not Express Entry. Published group maxima: capital humain (human capital) 520, réponse aux besoins (labour-market needs) 700, facteurs d’adaptation (adaptation factors) 180. Their sum is 1400. That sum is derived — the PDF does not print a single 1400 total.

Lorsque vous obtenez votre Certificat de sélection du Québec, vous devez poursuivre vos démarches d’immigration auprès du gouvernement du Canada. Après avoir obtenu votre Certificat de sélection du Québec, vous devez faire une demande de résidence permanente auprès du gouvernement fédéral. Quebec selection is separate from Express Entry. A CSQ is not permanent residence.

Le respect des critères d’invitation, en plus du pointage minimum, est essentiel pour recevoir une invitation. Avoir un pointage supérieur au pointage minimum ne garantit donc pas la réception d’une invitation. Le pointage obtenu grâce à l’outil d’autoévaluation est fourni à titre indicatif seulement… Le pointage dans la déclaration d’intérêt a préséance sur le pointage de l’outil d’autoévaluation.

There is no English language requirement in the PSTQ. However, you can include your knowledge of English in your declaration of interest if you wish. You will then have to submit your results from the test accepted by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration: The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test.

Federal stage — medical, security, criminality

Federal permanent residence after a CSQ

After you have been selected by Quebec and obtained a CSQ, you must submit a separate application to IRCC for permanent residence. An IRCC officer will then assess your application based on Canadian immigration rules. You will need to pass medical, security and criminality checks. A CSQ is not permanent residence. Quebec selection is not Express Entry.
